Get out the bug spray and put on your hiking boots, because
the CAC received a residential camping grant from the
Pohlad Family Foundation for the eighth year!

The Pohlad Family Foundation provides scholarships for first-time campers (ages 8-15) to attend an ACA accredited residential camp. Lasting memories are formed as kids sing songs around a crackling campfire, go swimming or canoeing after a day in the sun, or make arts & crafts to show to their loved ones back at home.

There are also specialty residential camps that focus on different interests such as horsemanship, sailing, theater, biking, climbing, and much more! This year, a group from St. Peters Church is donating some camping essentials that will outfit about 30 campers. Thank you St. Peters! If you have a child who is interested in going to camp for the first time, contact the CAC for a list of ACA accredited camps to consider.

“I want to thank you for your support of the 2009 MN FoodShare Campaign in Northfield. You can imagine the struggle to afford basic needs such as food and housing. Costs rise for you as fast as for everyone else. But if you’ve been unemployed, or lost a home, imagine how much harder that is. This past month CAC has focused our appeal on hunger and on its solution: sharing food.

Because of your financial support, we can sustain the promise that “nobody goes hungry in our community.” I’m pleased to report that the goal for the MN FoodShare Campaign has been met in Northfield. That success is attributable to you, and individual and corporate efforts made by churches, work, and social groups in our community
